Instructions For Use

Insertion

  • Insert the Typhoon Anchor using a mallet only.
  • Ensure the groove in the mushroom head (for the tether / lanyard / guide rope) faces away from the structure being anchored.
  • Position the anchor at approximately 50° to the horizontal plane.
  • Drive the anchor into the ground until the collar below the finger-pull reaches ground level, or until ground resistance prevents the anchor from advancing more than approximately 10mm per mallet strike.
  • Attach the tether, lanyard, or guide rope to the mushroom head.
  • Apply tension to the tether. As tension increases, the mushroom head will extend from the sheath, deploying the fins beneath the ground surface.
  • Deployment will stop either due to ground conditions or when the mechanism is fully extended.
  • Adjust the tether or guide rope until taut.

Extraction

  • Remove the tether, lanyard, or guide rope.
  • Push or gently tap the mushroom head downward to retract the mechanism.
  • Pull the anchor out using the finger-pulls on the outer sheath.
  • Clear and clean the anchor in accordance with the maintenance schedule.

TAP Maintenance

The Typhoon Anchor has been designed to require minimal maintenance. Constructed from robust, corrosion-resistant materials, it is built for durability in demanding environments.

To ensure reliable long-term performance, the following procedures are recommended.

After Each Use:

  • Unscrew the tip and cock the Typhoon Anchor mechanism several times to allow debris to fall free.
  • If excessive debris is present in the shaft chamber, repeat the same procedure under running water or with the anchor immersed to flush out particles.
  • Refit and securely tighten the tip before storing or reusing the anchor.

Long-Term Storage:

  • Follow the cleaning procedure described above.
  • If the anchor is wet, leave the sprung fins extended until fully dry.
  • Store in a dry environment.
  • As an optional measure, apply a light spray of oil into the shaft tube with the tip removed. Cock the mechanism several times before replacing the tip.

These simple steps will ensure the Typhoon Anchor remains reliable and ready whenever it is needed.

The Typhoon Anchor is a highly versatile ground anchor designed to deliver exceptional holding power in demanding ground conditions.

Built on a fundamentally different anchoring concept, the Typhoon Anchor system provides a level of stability and performance that sets a new benchmark for ground anchors of comparable size.

Whether securing shelters, equipment, or structures exposed to challenging conditions, the Typhoon Anchor is engineered to hold fast when it matters most.
